Say hello to Humana

On Sept. 1, Humana became the new administrator of the State of Texas Dental Choice Plan^SM and the dental health maintenance organization (DHMO). If you were enrolled in dental on Aug. 31 and didn’t drop coverage during Summer Enrollment, your coverage was automatically transferred to Humana. If you were automatically transferred or you enrolled in dental insurance during Summer Enrollment, create your MyHumana online account at ERSdentalplans.com. 

Through Humana's online portal you can:

• find a dentist in Humana's network;
• view, download and print your dental ID card; and
• designate your primary care dentist (PCD) for the HumanaDental DHMO.
• In addition, dependents over 18 can give you access to their account information through the online portal. Call Humana for details at (855) 756-6580 (TTY: 711).

Medicare-eligible retirees

You will have the opportunity to enroll in dental during Fall Enrollment Oct. 26–Nov. 13. If you want to end your dental enrollment, you can drop any insurance coverage any time of the year—you do not have to wait until Fall Enrollment.

Deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums

Any State of Texas Dental Choice Plan deductibles you paid for services Jan. 1–Aug. 31, 2026 (with our previous administrator, Delta Dental) will carry forward to Humana and will not reset because of this transition. The deductible is based on calendar year and will reset on Jan. 1, 2027. There’s no deductible for the DHMO
plan.

Past-year claims

If you have any questions about claims from Plan Year 2026 (Sept.1–Aug. 31, 2026), you can continue to contact Delta Dental through Dec. 31, 2026.
