Kathy Ross Releases New Single and Video 'When We Kiss'

Texas singer-songwriter explores the work of finding love again as the song reaches retail audiences worldwide and the video lands on MTV and CMT

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 30, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Singer-songwriter Kathy Ross has released her new single and video, “When We Kiss,” a candid look at love, heartache and the effort required to reconnect after a relationship loses its spark.

The song is already playing in hundreds of retail stores internationally, expanding its reach to shoppers around the world. The music video has also been added to MTV and CMT.

Recorded at Afterhours Studio in Miami, “When We Kiss” was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Hal Batt. Ross co-wrote the song with Benji Harris and Kris Bergsnes. The single is the first track to be released off her forthcoming album set to release in 2027.

“‘When We Kiss’ tells the story of love, heartache and the dedication it takes to find your way back to where it all began,” Ross said. “Relationships have many ups and downs, and sometimes it is hard to find that spark again. Through the hardest days, we remember our first kiss and how it brought us together. Each lyric reflects a rocky but beautiful love story and the way a kiss can bring two people back to each other.”

Ross began singing at age 6 and drew national attention as a contestant on “Star Search” in 1991. The Texas native went on to perform the national anthem at arenas across the state, appear at Southern festivals and open for country music legend Merle Haggard. Before graduating from high school, she also appeared in nationally televised campaigns for Revlon and Blue Bell Ice Cream. “When We Kiss” pairs that experience with a story centered on the difficult, hopeful work of returning to the connection that first brought two people together.
